Nader is a consumer advocate and presidential candidate for the Green Party, working to ensure ordinary people have the tools necessary to defend themselves against corporate negligence and government interference.

Canisius University received the "Excellence in Preservation" Award. The college was recognized for preserving, restoring, and revitalizing four historic buildings on campus: Old Main, Lyons Hall, Montante Cultural Center, and the George M. Martin Hall.

An international calligraphy exhibit, "Project Hope," pays homage to the victims of September 11. It was on display in Canisius University's Andrew L. Bouwhuis, S.J. Library until July 18.

Canisius University appointed Dr. Margaret C. McCarthy as new dean for the School of Education and Human Services.

Canisius University opens the Intercultural Living Center at Campion Hall which will house nearly 50 international and American students attending the college.

Canisius University Psychology professors, Dr. Judith E. Larkin and Dr. Harvey A. Pines released the findings of a recent study they conducted entitled "When Teachers Call on Students: Avoidance Behavior in the Classroom."

Dr. Richard Wall, professor of economics and finance at Canisius University, received the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation by the Association for Investment Management and Research. The CFA is the only globally recognized credential for investment analysis and management.

Canisius University received a $2,000 grant from Target Corporation to promote literacy efforts through the college's Graduate Reading Program for children in grades 1-12.
